This cabinet was originally painted a farmhouse baby blue and had a matching hutch on top with shelving, housing decorative accessories. We were looking for more functional shelving and my husband found these at West Elm.
Reclaimed wood floating shelves available in several sizes. We chose the one that matched the length of our cabinet at 3 feet. Perfect size for holding cups, bowls and various kitchen items that we use almost everyday.
While visiting a doughnut shop in Providence, RI with family, I was instantly inspired by the color and character of this sidebar!
Luckily, I found that we already had a similar paint color on hand from Valspar in Ocean Storm, that fit the bill and matched nicely with the wall color in our Kitchen. We ordered an unfinished butcher block countertop and cut it to size. Then finished with a few coats of Minwax Weathered Oak wood finish and a butcher block conditioner both available from Lowe's.

For accessories, I added our coffee maker, sugar bowl from Hearth & Hand by Magnolia, and a stainless cup with paper straws for the win. Coffee is served.
